Our Approach
At Tiger Cubs, we understand that starting nursery is a big step for both parents and children. We're committed to ensuring a smooth transition for your little one into our nurturing environment. Our settling-in process is designed to create a sense of comfort and familiarity, fostering a positive and happy start to their journey with us.
Settling In Sessions
What to Expect
The settling-in process is tailored to your child's unique needs. We recommend a gradual introduction to the nursery setting to help them feel secure and build trust with our caregivers. Here's what you can expect:
Nursery Tour: Before your child's official start date, we encourage you to schedule a pre-visit orientation. This is an opportunity for you and your child to meet the staff, explore the rooms, and ask any questions you may have.
Registration Visit: Begin with short, positive sessions where you stay with your child. This allows them to explore the new environment while having the security of your presence. On this session you’ll be required to fill our registration pack. This session should last around one hour.
Settling in Visits 2 hours and 3 hours: As your child becomes more comfortable, we'll work together to gradually increase the duration of separation. Our experienced staff is trained to support both you and your child during this process. This session will last around two hours and another one for three hours. If your child is comfortable within the room, we may encourage you to leave for a short time and then return.
On our next settling-in sessions- your child will hopefully be settled and will stay with us for the morning or afternoon session.
We understand that all children are different, and some children may take longer to settle in. We will work in partnership with your and your child to make sure this transition goes smoothly.

Communication is key to a successful settling-in process. We value our partnership with parents and encourage open dialogue. Our teachers are always available to discuss any concerns or questions you may have.

We recognise that each child is unique, and our team is dedicated to providing individualized support during this transition period. If your child has specific needs or preferences, please share them with us so that we can make the settling-in process as smooth as possible.
Helpful Tips for Parents
Establish a Routine: Maintain a consistent routine at home to help your child feel secure. A predictable schedule can ease the transition.
Bring Comfort Items: Feel free to bring a comfort item from home, such as a favourite toy or blanket, to provide familiarity.
Stay Positive: Children often pick up on their parents' emotions. Stay positive and confident about the exciting adventure ahead.
